James Phillips serves as a Field Supervisor for Lake Valley EMS formerly known as Greater Amsterdam Volunteer Ambulance Corps (GAVAC).

Phillips has more than 30 years of experience in the emergency medical services field. A lifelong resident of Montgomery County, Phillips served his country as an aviation machinist mate for the U.S. Navy prior to joining EMS. He started his EMS career at Rural Grove Fire Department and later obtained his EMT and volunteered for Mid-County Ambulance and working at GAVAC. During his career he has worked within both the private and public ambulance services, and he later went on to receive his paramedic license. In his professional EMS career is has served in numerous leadership positions demonstrating a high level of understanding and proven success in EMS operations.
